SAS APPLICATION: CEMENT SUBSTITUTE IN CONCRETE

GSG|SAS is a direct substitute for up to 15% of Portland cement and ideal for the manufacture of high strength concretes. GSG|SAS at 98%, contains the highest % vol/vol of amorphous silica, commercially available in Brazil. The amorphous silica is the component that gives GSG|SAS its pozzolanic reactivity.

GSG|SAS based concrete has the following advantages over conventional concretes produced from 100% mineral pozzolanic compounds such as Portland cement:

  • Lower heat of hydration

  • More durable

  • Less permeable

  • Reduced exposure to the disintegrating penetration of corrosive and erosive liquids such as water, sulphates and chlorides.
