SAS APPLICATION: RUBBER
Amorphous Silica derived from rice husks has a variety of high value applications:
In the tyre industry black carbon is currently being partially substituted by silica as a filler. Amorphous silica in combination with a silane coupling agent as a filler in tread compounds can result in fuel savings of 3 to 4% compared to a tyre having treads made from compounds with 100% carbon black. This means a 20% reduction of the rolling resistance and consequently lower greenhouse gas emissions.

RUBBER PRODUCTS
In the rubber industry, substituting 10-15% of black carbon for biogenous amorphous silica is creating more environmentally friendly, sustainable and longer lasting products.
